Frequently Asked Questions

CAN I BUY LOCALLY GROWN FLOWERS FROM MFB FOR MY WEDDING OR EVENT?

Yes! We offer DIY Buckets of Blooms. This is a one time purchase of farm fresh flowers for your event or wedding that does not require a seasonal buying membership. Learn more about our DIY floral options here!

HOW DO I BECOME A BUYER?

To shop from our weekly wholesale flower market during our growing season, you must fill out our buyer’s pass application. Approved members will be contacted with membership login access along with the online ordering info and our in-person buying process at our market each week.

SPEAKING OF PREORDERING & BUYING, HOW DOES THAT WORK?

Once you’ve activated your buyer’s pass membership (via our website), you’ll be supplied with our seasonal availability guide and a detailed documentation of how the ordering process works! Online pre-sales are accessed through our shop page each Monday, in-person shopping is Wednesday. We strongly encourage you to treat our Monday online shopping as your must have items to guarantee you’re getting what you need that week. Once your online order is submitted and paid for, our farmers will be contacted and they will harvest it for Wednesday pickups at MFB. Every Wednesday MFB will also be open for shopping from all florals that we’re not pre-ordered, or what our farmers have available that week. Quantities are limited for each week, so any online “pre-orders” products are what sells first, in person shopping is great if your floral needs are flexible!

If you know your floral design requires in-demand seasonal blooms (dahlias, peonies, ranunculus), please contact MFB at least 3 weeks before your event date. We’ll need estimated stem counts and color palettes to provide accurate ordering opportunities.

WHEN & WHERE & HOW CAN I SHOP MFB?

The MFB is a private marketplace, not open to the general public for shopping. Members will be notified of pickup and shopping times, which take place each Wednesday. A Buyers Membership Pass is good for one growing season April – October (fall/first frost). We are located in Bennington Township (Owosso, MI), 5 minutes north of I-69. Looking to get local flowers as a one-time purchase for your event? Check out our DIY Blooms page.

I’M A NEW FLOWER FARMER, CAN I STILL SIGN UP FOR A FARMER’S PASS?

We accept new and seasoned flower farmers. You will need to be able to supply your products in wholesale quantities (growers bunches) to sell, and have sustainable practices in place. Our team will visit each new flower farming members farm during the season. We have a limited number of spots available for farmers each season, based on our number of buyers.

HOW DO I BECOME A FARMING MEMBER?

Start with applying here. Once we’ve reviewed your application, you’ll be notified of acceptance or if you’re on our wait list, via email. Once accepted, you’ll get a welcome email with our market process, and what is required as a farmer member with MFB. All farming members have an online account where products are uploaded to our store each week for buyers to shop from.

CAN A FLOWER FARMING MEMBER GET A BUYER’S PASS?

Absolutely. A flower farming member can add on a buyers pass for $50. Just select that option on your farmer’s application.

WHAT IF THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY ORDER?

If there is an error, or you’re unhappy with the quality of your product upon pickup, please let us know! We provide the highest quality cut-flowers and guarantee fresh products every week. You’ll approve your order upon pickup. If there are any issues within 24 hours of receiving your products, you must contact us immediately to arrange a refund or credit. After the products are in your care for more than 24 hours, we cannot accommodate any issues as buyers are responsible for proper care.
