The Farmer's Notes
10-stem bunches, long stems. Like all milkweeds, it has a milky sap that can be irritating to some people. Showy, fragrant, pink to rose-purple flowers, different from common milkweed because flowers are arranged in terminal umbels (clusters) at the top of the stems.
Swamp milkweed is an important native plant and host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars and attracts other pollinators like hummingbirds and various butterflies.
About Milkweed
Milkweed offers vivid clusters of color and, later, its beautiful seed pods. A pollinator hero and a designer’s delight, it is all grown by our Michigan farmer collective.
