The Farmer's Notes
5 stems, approximately 18” stem
This is a mix of magenta colored peonies. One variety has slender stems and few side buds and the other has chunkier stems and side buds. They are definitely not the same varieties, but the flowers are similar in color when unfurled. I suspect one is Kansas, but I don't know what the other variety is.
Peonies are dry stored in soft bud stage (marshmallow). Any purchased will be trimmed and placed in water Tuesday night to begin the opening process. They will still be in my cooler though.
